Welcome to NZNET Internet Services

Hoax Email Circulating 3/6/09

Some of our clients have received an email requesting that they verify their Username and Password details etc. These kinds of emails tend to circulate every now and then. They do not come from NZNET and are just attempts to extract information by some fraudsters. As with any emails of this nature you should simply delete them and never reply to them. NZNET will never request by email that you verify your Username or Password details so any such requests you may encounter will be a hoax.

IP Address Change - Update

We have noticed that a small number of clients are still using our old DNS server address. Please make sure that any references you may have to the old numbers (202.27.216.34 & 202.27.216.35) are replaced with 114.134.161.8 & 114.134.161.9 as the old numbers will cease working altogether from 13th April

IP Address Change

Our IP address ranges are changing. Anyone who has hard coded our DNS server addresses in their computer or router should change to the new addresses as soon as possible. The old addresses were 202.27.216.34 and 202.27.216.35 The new addresses are 114.134.161.8 and 114.134.161.9 The old addresses will be phased out at the end of August 2008

Virus Generated Email Messages

We have had several enquiries from clients recently regarding email that appears to come from NZNET advising of a problem with their account or a security problem. The messages also usually have a file attached supposedly containing further instructions.

If you receive one of these emails you should delete it. These messages are simply the result of recent virus outbreaks, they do not come from us at all. The source addresses are faked as is common with most virus or spam activity. NZNET never sends email attachments to clients, so regardless of how genuine it may appear it will not be from us if it has an attachment.
